MOVIE REVIEW: #Alive (2020)
#Alive is a 2020 South Korean zombie film directed by Cho Il-hyung, starring Yoo Ah-in (Joon-wo) and Park Shin-hye (Yoo-bin). It is based on the original script of "#Alone" by Hollywood screenwriter Matt Naylor.
Its not your usual zombie movie. The MC in this movie is somebody we can all relate to, a shut-in millenial with no extraordinary survival or military skills. In fact, he's a noob and an idiot (according to Yoo-bin). I love how ordinary the MC is. It's every ordinary person's reaction when faced with a zombie apocalypse!!! I mean not everybody got James Bond moves or Detective Conan deduction skills. The actors did a good job in portraying the fighting skills of an ordinary person. Not very sophisticated moves, no proper form, no ninja flying kicks whatsoever. The opening credits were lit and the over-all production was great. However, the zombies are not as scary or grotesque as that of Kingdom or Train to Busan. And the MCs are too freaking lucky!!! How did they not get a single bite from all that zombie fighting scenes?!?!?!!!!
